Bin Laden's DEAD!!!!

On Sunday, May 1, 2011 at approximately 11:36 p.m. EST President of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama, announced that the United States Military had indeed killed Osama Bin Laden.  Since this announcment twitter, facebook and many other social networking sites have exploded with praise over Bin Laden's death.  Many are saying that this is the highest moment of Obama's presidency.

What has really been solved by the death of Bin Laden?  What are the chances that our troops will be pulled out of Afghanistan?  Will this really change anything?

Many will praise Obama for years to come because of this moment in history.  He has done what Bush was never able to do; he has finished the war that Bush never could.  Or has he?

How can any man live with the guilt of knowing that he gave the order to take another man's life?  What has he solved by killing Bin Laden?  Did he even care?  I am sickened to live in a country that celebrates death with such joy.

Obama addressed the nations saying, "Justice has been served for the families of those killed in 9/11."  He then ended with, "One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

..."One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and just for all?"  What was justified by Bin Laden's death?  More killing?!

"Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but  leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord."  -- God has spoken...

  1. Looking at it from a biblical stand point, there is absolutely something wrong with celebrating the killing of another human being. But I can think of a few biblical celebrations of death, that aside I think we forget that people are killed/sentenced to death quite frequently in this country for murder and not spoken up for. And we must not forget that Osama was a tyrant and mass murder whom deserved death, not that I have that say so, but in my opinion death can be justified in certain circumstances and this to me is one. Avoiding the obvious and not giving you his entire rap sheet, I honestly believe the world is a better place with out him. And I believe Mr.Obama was referring to the justification that families and victims of Bin Laden now feel, knowing that their cries were heard, and someone did something about the pain that inflicted upon them.

  3. Chris!!! You have a blog!? I so love reading your thoughts! You have some really neat discussions on here, and I really enjoy it!

I totally agree....I'm also disgusted that our country is celebrating someone's death with such enthusiasm. I saw a photo of a sign that read "Bin Laden will rot in Hell!" Even on your worst enemy, people should never wish something so awful on another person.

Anyway, I'm glad college is going well for you! I hope you have an awesome summer!
